It is not in anything I can find in the drug manuals I have. I suspect it might be a street drug of some kind. If you want to be sure what it is I would take it to a large pharmacy and show it to a pharmacist. If he or she says it is not a prescription drug and you are still curious, take it to your local hospital Poison Control Center (often a part of the Emergency Room). They have a pretty good database if it is a decent sized hospital. Your last choice, and one which would give you quicker results perhaps, is to go to the police department and ask for their narcotics department to see if they can identify it. You can tell them you found it in the street by your home or something and are worried. That way, your son would not be implicated. For your sake and your son's, I think it is worth finding out what the pill actually is. Good luck.

It's called Extacy. If it is not in a hospital registry as a presription drug, than the only other drug it could be is extacy. The little man symbol is most likley a "trade mark" symbol used to represent the dealer that the pills were made and sold by. Make sure the pills are taken from him and have his room checked regularly. Overdose from extacy causes brain hemorrage, paralysis, tremors, heart-attack, stroke and he could ultimatley die. Think up a swift punishment for him if you want to save him. Drug dealers sell the drug without explaining the side effects it causes, therefore, your son has no idea how dangerous the drug really is and he needs to know that he can't get away with doing it.

Extacy. Definately. I've seen that exact pill before, on the streets its known as a "Blue Running Man" and depending on weather or not its a copycat (a poorly made and often majorly adulterated pill) and the age of your son, he probably shelled out at least $20 for it or got it for free. I dont blame drugs for the poor mistakes people make with them, but your son probably has no idea (and you too) that that pill is probably 50% speed and very little MDMA (MDMA is the actual chemical called 'extacy'). This is my major qualm with Extacy. Your son is only 14 and he does not need his brain development screwed up with highly spacific and highly potent drugs (or any for that matter). As for checking his room regularly, that may not be the best idea. Forcing someone who believes that they have become 'enlightened' by psychoactive substances into a situation where they have no privacy is liable to cause him to try even harder to isolate themselves from you. Even if you threaten and carry out random drug tests, you may actually be causing them to do harder drugs like cocaine that leave the system rapidly, are easy to dilute in urine, or arent even in the standard battery of drug tests (LSD, LSA, over-the-counter drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and hallucinogenic mushrooms). The best thing you can do is educate yourself on drugs (BOTH SIDES OF THE ARGUMENT!!) and get your son to trust you more than his friends. At that point will you be able to actually influence his decisions so when he goes out on his own into the world, he will do whats right. I am apalled that a 14 year old can even get his hands on something that strong. A few symptoms that you can look for to tell if he is under the influence of extacy or other stimulants are: decreased appetite, dialated pupils, rapid eye movement, elevated body temperature, cold and clammy hands and feet, sweating even though he has not recently engaged in physical activity, and insomnia. If you do happen to find him under the influence of extacy, it is a perfect oppertunity to talk to him calmly and explain that you love him and you are very upset that he is doing this to himself. Extacy makes the user very emotional and if you can make him feel bad about what he did without making him feel angry or trapped, you can very quickly and effectively change his perspective. MDMA used to be used as a tool by psychiatrists exactly for the above reason. DO NOT PUT HIM ON ANTIDEPRESSANTS! Antidepressants are very dangerous to mix with any type of drug, ESPECIALLY extacy. Since I doubt your son looks into drug interactions, he will not know that if he takes extacy while on antidepressants, he is HIGHLY likely to go into serrotonin syndrome (basically when the brain overloads with serrotonin) which will quickly cause hyperthermia, convulsions, and is quickly and usually followed by death. Severe punishment and psychotherepy is not the answer to most drug use, as we see every day when the drug dealer gets out of prison and the very next day goes all out with the same thing he was imprisoned for. I hope I didnt seem too preachy, but I have seen tons of kids do drugs and there are distinctive paths in the drug world, most lead deeper, but a few lead back out. Only he can walk the path of his choosing and only you can HELP HIM MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES FOR HIMSELF. PS. Know all of his friends personally and make sure he is where he says he is.
