  • I remember my moment of self-consciousness, at age 7. It was early Saturday morning on a clear and warm day in June, the dew was still sprinkled on the grass, and I held my hand up in front of me, and as the rising sun struck it, I realized that I was alive.
  • Playing SNES Zelda: A link to the past, with my now deceased father memories i will always cherish til' the day I die.
  • My father and I have never really been on good terms. I hated him for being a womanizer, and he hated me for being a failure of a daughter. But seeing this question reminds me of something that happened a long long time ago. . . My dad and I were walking down the woods behind our house. The foliage was quite thick, and my father told me to be careful. We heard rustling coming from the foliage to my left side, and the first thing he did was cover me protectively. The rustling turned out to be nothing more than a chicken clawing the ground with its feet. But then again, it could have been a snake. It was the most beautiful memory I could remember from childhood. Everything else is just trash.

  • I already answered one similar to this about the time I learnt to ride my bike, so I shall delve VERY deep and see what I can pull out... When I was about 6, my parents were in the middle of a very nasty divorce, but still lived together, so it was like world war three in my house, especially on the weekends. One weekend I couldn't take it anymore, so me and Katie went up to London to stay at my uncle's. He took me and Katie out for milkshake, and we were walking back, he put me on his shoulders, and said 'I love you sweetie. My gorgeous girl.' Of course, I didn't know he was lying at the time, but other than that, it was pretty great.
  • Hanging out in my dad's old silk-screen print shop, helping him load the presses, practicing kendo with his business acossiate Jack,(Who later turned out to be a psycho, and skrewed us out of $2500.) thnking that maybe a little later I might go down the road and have a nice chat with my friend Boogie, who worked at the Odwala packing plant down the road, or maybe go for a nice climb up the the stairs, and visit the artist colony that lived on the second floor, or maybe go visit Johnamado, and play with some of his cool gadgets. And just remembering now, how happy I was then, hanging around with all my cool grownup friends, learning a trade, I was so innocent then, things were so pleasant and carefree back then. God I miss those days...

  • All of them. I have extraordinarily wonderful parents. I also had grandparents that lived close by. My grandparents have both passed away and my mom has cancer, so I have thought a lot about my childhood lately. It's hard to pick just one, because when the people who gave you a firm and loving foundation to grow on are gone. . .you will want to remember all of the memories as your favorite.
  • I do happen to remember the first time I got a balloon. I was three years old and was at a mall in the Hampton Roads area with my mother. I actually got two of them. One was yellow with "Kids Mart" on it, and the other one was baby blue with no printing on it. I also remember being age three when I started swinging my father's golf clubs in the opposite direction. A family friend observed this and he bought me a left handed eight iron, but I hit that in the opposite direction as well. So I became a natural right handed golfer, and have been for almost 20 years.

  • Christmas at our house when I was very young was magical! I was three. I remember it as if it were yesterday. It was a Christmas of all Christmases. The tree twinkled with what seemed like a million beautiful lights. And the smell of cakes and the turkey cooking in the oven warmed the entire house with a delightful warmth. And all the toys under the tree all of them in enormous beautifully wrapped gifts boxes were for me. I was so overwhelmed I couldn't move, I was stuck in my tracks and I couldn't talk. I just stood in my robe and slippers looking at the tree lights and felt the joy in my parents voices as they pushed me forward toward the wonderful bounty that was all mine. I even had a bike that year. I felt so loved and the warmth along with all those gifts wrap around me as tightly and as rightly as the gifts were under that tree. I felt adorned and cherished. And the voices of my parents confirmed that more than all the toys. And for a moment in time, everything was all right in my world.

  • To be honest it wasn't one single experience but a variety of small ones. My cousin & I were like brother & sister since we were both only children coming from a small family. On occassion we would spend the night at my grandmas house and we'd get up to all sorts of things. Collecting insects, playing in the park, climbing onto the roof of my grandmas house lol. Sometimes he got us into trouble like the time when we ended up running accross an air force runway because he wanted to get to the candy store but in the end, I can look back on it now & say it was all good times, good fun. Spending time with him is my best childhood experience.
