I've got 2 monitors, is there any way to get different desktop backgrounds for them? Whenever I change one, the other also changes to it, using the same settings.

If your monitors are connected to the same computer than no I don't see how you would be able to have two different backgrounds.

Both ATI and Nvidia offer software that will allow to set up the monitors as you like. You can choose how they work (whether they duplicate each other or form one big desktop, etc), what you have for a background(s) and other things. It is usually included as part of the driver package. For more information, you'd have to visit the webpage of your video card manufacturer.

It depends on how your monitors are connected. If your video card has 2 separate monitor connections then destructomoose is right. The software/drivers for the video card will give you those options. If you are using 2 different video cards then your pc will not be able to treat them as 2 seperate monitors.
