  • I believe they are unsympathetic people, who also lack some level of empathy.
  • I think it is inappropriate, callous and rude as hell. Why not offer a little help? Is it all that damn difficult to do?
  • people shouldn't label themselves or others it restrains them from being something better
  • they are the people who do not understand or care to understand mental illness and I have come across many of these people in life. It's very easy to judge someone but i truly believe these people will one day find out what it's all about. quick story. I knew a girl who was a friend. everytime I got depressed. she was quick to judge and say snap out of it, CHOOSE to be happy.. one day she got up depressed.. for about 2 years she was in a major depression for no apparent reason..everyone told her "snap out of it. get over it. CHOOSE to be happy". she now has a different attitude on things. it takes being in someone's shoes to really understand
  • Everyone has something they are working through. Some people like to label. But if they were in their shoes they would be humbled and reaching out for help . No one is greater, we are all trying to reach our goals in life . Whether its mental, or physical or just emotional stuff. All of us are not perfect and are just trying to reach our goals. We need to understand others for we could of been there too.
  • i dont believe where i live they do, but where i live the truly deppressed are normal ppl, then there are those who dress act and look emo, those are emos
  • Emo, chav, grebo, scene, prep.. what is with this world and stereotypes? "emo" seems to be this fashion at the moment. people cut themselves because it's "fashionable" and act "depressed" because it's "cool" AAAGHH. (sorry, lol) these sorts of people infuriate me. it almost comes across as they're taking the p*ss out of people with REAL issues.
  • Uneducated and judgmental.
  • The only people I would describe as emo are those who feign depression for the sake of fashion. Those people are clearly not "truly depressed". I find that there is no need to label people who are depressed as anything. That is insensitive at best.
  • Labels are supposed to be a "quick and easy" way to get a point made, without having to go into a long, clinical description. Used the correct way, they can facilitate discussions. If the label is used to disrespect or dismiss them, then it is wrong. "Depressed" is a clinical diagnosis, and should not be used to describe everyone who is having a bad day, either.
