I'd say that as a Nation, we should get out priorities right and learn to look and listen to what is really important. Ignore and overlook the occasional BJ and deal with the great big ass fuc*king we are all getting right now in its place!

The question is why do their districts keep voting them in. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Murtha, and so many others of their ilk have no business in government. I wouldn't hire them to work at a car wash, much less run the country. Edwards behavior is no surprise to me, he is a great admirer of Bill Clinton.

This whole "affair" stuff has me puzzled. Do they have more temptation than the rest of us? Is there as much "patty cake" going on in the general population, but it just doesn't get the publicity? I don't know what is might have to do with being a good political leader, but it does look bad.

It's not so much these 'affairs' that so many seem to get caught in as it is the fact that people mostly seem to let it slide 'because he's only human' or 'it's none of our business'. Well, news flash here folks! If you are a PUBLICALLY elected official holding a PUBLIC office, then this type of behavior is UNACCEPTABLE. Elected officials represent US in all aspects. They should be held accountable just as you or I would. If we let them slide, then we are saying that that kind of behavior is acceptable PERIOD. As I asked my wife when this 'it's none of our business' stuff and 'he didn't actually have sesxual relations' stuff came up with Bill Clinton: "Would you accept this type of behavior from our son?" Young people look up to those in higher positions of authority, even aspire to be there themselves some day. Think about that. Now, about this scandal: It WILL eventually die away, one way or another. Whether or not John Edwards will weather it out for or agianst himself, I do not know. How this affects his personal life, I not only don't I know, I don't consider it my business. BUT, the fact that it happened affects my decisions about him as an elected official. Because I consider these things as indicators of the inner workings of the person, their moral compass as it were. I have no wish to elect an obviously morally corrupt person into a public office and then place my trust in him to do right by the American people. I also despise the hypocritical people in politics who capatolize on his misfortune, also.

What gets me is not necessarily the affair, that's happened before and will happen again. But that whole standing by his wife while she has cancer all the while the affair is going on is just phony. Just like President Clinton, it wasn't necessarily the affair, but the blatant lie about the affair. Oh, in Clinton's case too, her being a subordinate and him giving orders to bomb foreign lands while the, ummmmm, affair was at that same moment being conducted hardly helped matters.

Its only fun for a few days, then it gets old.

I have to say this. As previously posted. our kids look up to these people. When they see a politician or a priest or a teacher or whoever do these things..what does it say to them.. it says it's ok if I do it. It's bad enough that their role models like Brittany Spears and Miley cyrus do things to screw up their lives and our teens are affected but then you have someone who "runs the country or runs the church or is a teacher and role model" who screws up. and then we the parents tell kids "don't do drugs, don't have sex, don't do.whatever." do you think they care what we want..all they see is what is in the media.

You like to hold a grudge don't you! Who really cares as long as they don't lie about it or use funds that are not theirs (or his)to use for it. If you want to thump your Bible about it, Edwards did no wrong except lieing about it. And If you would want more information on that statement please email me....
