Talk about with all the programs aimed to help the homeless -- public, private, religious, etc. -- there is no reason anybody should be homeless in America.

I can tell you that it is out of control... I have never seen a homeless person in my town ever until about 3 years ago!!! and now I see them all the time!!! I saw one guy taking a piss right off the highway... like it was his own bathroom!!! I was mad, my 3 years old son saw that and asked me why he cant pee in the road!!

didn't john edwards adopt poverty and homelessness as keystones of his campaign? maybe he has bits of wisdom? i always visit wikipedia now to get started on anything. next, i do google searches. next, i go to the library and sign out books or peruse magazine or journals.

well i was homeless for about 2 months soo i can give you a list of problems that there is not being able to bathe the cold god damn misquito's hunger no money (unless you steal it or things of value you can also beg but i am younge soo i chose the other one) being bored cause of no tv computer video games ect. feeling shitty cause you know your the lowest of the towns scum its hard to sleep thats all i can think of now if i remember anything else ill let you know.

i didnt knwo if you would recive a notice if i posted a comment thing soo i reposted here well when i was first homeless my friends at school tried ot help me by letting me stay there house but there parents didnt want a "low life" or what ever living there, even tho i would have gotten a job if i could have cleaned myself up and payed them rent. most people wouldn't see me as a homless person cause i was younge and didnt have a beard or anything i just looked like a kid sitting on a bench. and being homeless had made me grow up really fast most people think that i am 20 because of how i act but im only 16, and i do not waste food anymore, or take anything for granted. anything else you would like too know?

I was homeless last year too and so I could give you some perspective. homeless are treated like scum everybody thinks it's someone else's problem. They say "get off the street. send them to a shelter". There are not nearly enough beds for everyone. Then nobody is willing to donate time or money to the shelters or soup kitchens. without resources or volunteers,you could have 1 million shelters but they won't run. People tell the homeless to get a job. They home no way to shower, no clean DECENT clothes. No address. If they do apply for a job..employers say "I don't want to hire a Bum..it brings down my business".. People assume all people are addicts/alcoholics and want to be homeless. they say 'they are homeless cause they made bad choices". I was homeless due to domestic violence. That was no my choice. I met many homeless people that were homeless due to loss of jobs, housing market (low income govt housing waiting list is as long as 20 years in some states). medical bills. some people have no insurance and had to sell EVERYTHING just to get treatment for something that could have been taken care of easily had they had insurance or money (a cold turns into pneumonia and a $20,000 hospital bill). In the shelters: people are stolen from, women are raped (I was)..you have to carry your shoes with you or they are gone. and the shelters only allow you to stay so long and then you have to move on. Everybody has answers but nobody wants to help with the problem (volunteer, employee them, etc.)

Spend the day at the homeless shelter!!

Volunteer at a homeless shelter or local soup kitchen. You will have tons of information and subject matter. You will also have the experience to make your study realistic and interesting. Plus, I bet you could come up with some ides for solutions. And you would be helping a few folks.

What causes homelessness ? and what little ways cares for these people state: *psychological *economic *physical *social damage caused by this phenomenon that is universal etc.. Put yourself in their shoes. What would you do if you found yourself in their situation,write a personal diary pretending that,you were kicked out of home,during a verbal dispute with the folks and found your self in a strange enviroment that was very scary. Use descriptive language to let your reader feel as if they were there.
