it is highly insulting to the black individual who's broken out of the stereotype that is mostly a negative stereotype.

I have said it before and I will say it again - racism is NOT universally white! Yes it is racist!

Yes, I would definitely consider this to be racism.

(I'm copy-pasting from my asnwer to this question: "What is 'acting black' really mean?" http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/853117) I say it's racist, because people will often use this phrase or others like "acting white," to say whether someone is or isn't going along with how they're "supposed" to act based on their race. Just because a black man is well-educated doesn't mean he's "acting white;" no more than a white man who loves to play basketball is "acting black." Unfortunately, though, society can be ignorant and small-minded, as it puts us all in neatly-framed boxes to keep us all "in our place."

GOOD QUESTION TO POST HONEY!!!! YOU ALREADY KNOW MY ANSWER.

You mean when blacks call other blacks "too white?" Yeah, its racist... its insulting not because there is anything wrong with being white, but because its meant in a malicious way. Its an attempt to degrade someone for their hobbies and choices as an individual, because they "reject" the stereotypical lifestyle choices. Its blacks being racist against blacks... the mentality that in order to be black, you have to be a certain way. Im a white guy... and I worked at a restaurant with this black guy. He was cool, I wouldnt have minded being his friend. He was totally not the stereotype though. He was actually fairly self-educated. I said so many times to him that he was white "on the inside". Hilarious.

Yes. Actually Black people today are the most racist of races. Just watch any black tv sitcom and check out how goofy every white person is on them.
