I share my name with a main character in Wilkie Collins' 'Woman in White'. I had to attend several lectures on the book in University. Every time the lecturer mentioned the character I would look up as if to say "Yes, can I help?" and then realise he wasn't speaking to me.

As a sixth grader I read KIM, by Rudyard Kipling. Loved the book. Started telling everyone that Kim is an Asian BOY name. Refused to answer to anything but Kimberly after that. Huh. I'd forgotten just when I'd started using my full name (instead of Kim or Kimmy) until I read your question. Thanks!
