The house we are in was built in 1916. It was purchased as a kit from a Sears a Robuck catalog and shipped to our town on the railroad. The name of the kit is "The Westly"

We are almost finished building our home, a log cabin. We started building it in 2005 and had the walls up that year, roof that winter and been working on the insides, porches and septic system since then. We've got little things left to do, like tile the shower and put wood on the floors and some trim.

The house I live in was built in 1998, it was on the cover of Parade of Homes that year. woo hoo! We've been living here since 2002. The town of Excelsior MN was incorperated in the 1800's sometime.
