Well it depends on your skills. If you're working your way through college toward a career, you can get lower level jobs in the career that you want to enter eventually, internships, etc. That doesn't mean others can't get good jobs too. I took a culinary arts program for one year at my college, and even though it wasn't what I decided to major in, it did help me land a pretty good job. I applied at a supermarket, expecting to be a cashier or stocking shelves at minimum wage due to my limited experience, but because I had taken the culinary arts classes, I was placed directly in a department and soon was given a higher pay rate.
