I would not say 'crap', at least not in class. I learned a lot about other people that was pretty crappy, though. But, it was still good knowlege to have.

I sure did learn a lot of cr*p in high school: I learned a lot of cr*p about math, which provided me with many of the tools I've needed later in the real world; in engineering, construction, finances, and personal life. I learned a lot of cr*p about physics, which helped me along my career path to a job where I make about a double cheeseburger every minute, sometimes more. I learned a lot of cr*p about electronics, which has placed me in good standing in my choosen profession and enabled me to indulge freely in my double cheeseburger habit. I learned a lot of cr*p about the english language and how important good grammar, punctuation, and spelling are in getting my point across. Even if I'm not the best at it. I learned a lot of cr*p in shop class that saves me sh*tloads of money because that knowledge, combined with what I learned from my Dad (a carpenter all his life) enables me do do much of the home repairs, improvements, and building projects on my own. I learned a lot of cr*p about small engine repair in shop, which translates directly to being able to diagnose and repair much of the problems with vehicles I have owned, thus saving me sh*tloads more money. I learned a lot of cr*p about German, which helped me in the international community, even though my understanding of the language has faded significantly these decades past. It has gained me many friends and contacts in every non-german speaking country I've been to, as well, because I'm not seen as the typical snobbish American too stuck up to learn about another culture. I learned a lot of cr*p about history, how it's important to know and understand the past in order to pave the best path to the future. I learned a lot of crap about music, mostly that I'm not musically inclined and can't carry a tune to save my life. But I've learned to apprciate everything from classical to country to heavy metal to punk to pop to rap to irish to comedy parodies to just about anything else in between. I learned a lot about literature and writing, how the classics in literature are just a prelude to more and sometimes better things in other readings. I learned how to write properly and improperly, how to best get my internal vision across to another person through the medium of written words. I learned how people assume and fill in the blanks, often with wrong information, when I'm not clearly expressing myself properly. I learned teamwork from sports and learned sporting activities that have served me well in entertainment and exercise. They provide me with a healthy physical body and give me a means to work out stressful situations at the same time. The pursuit of some sports later in life has taken me places I'd likely never have gone to before, sports like scuba diving and whitewater rafting. I learned a lot of cr*p from my teachers that was NOT in the text books. Things like how to study, direct and indirect applications of subjects to real life, social graces, and more. I've learned that many of my fellow students who thought that learning such cr*p in high school was bullsh*t (and thus did whatever they could to avoid it) have paid a very high personal price for that later in life. So yeah, I learned a LOT of cr*p in high school. How about you?

I learned both alot of good information and a load of crap.

School is not about learning a lot of crap, it's about learning how to learn so that you can learn about new things, even after you've left school.

Even if you never use some of the information you are forced to learn in high school, putting up with it is a valuable lesson in itself. There are a lot of incompetent people out there just waiting to become your boss, and you'll have sit through their lectures and pretend to be enthralled if you ever want to get ahead.
