  • Yes, I believe, but I don't believe there needs to be special reasons, except late term abortions should only be done if the mothers life is at stake.
  • Dangerous topic but I don't believe in abortion unless the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother..I believe that abortion has become a convenient method of birth control and I also believe that if a woman has an abortion just because she does not want a baby "right now" that she should be sterilized. Too many forms of birth control now days to have so many unplanned pregnancies. :)
  • I had a ectopic pregnancys and thats the only reason why i had it aborted. I was 3 months pregnant on my first ectopic before i found out it was ectopic, and almost left my little girl without a mother, I'm all for it only when the mother is indanger of losing her life...as for me, I dearly wished they were full term pregnencys
  • When someone asks if I believe in something like abortion I usually answer: Yes, I believe that it is real. Abortion isn't like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. Morally, I wouldn't want a woman to abort my child but ultimately I have (arguably) 50% of the say in the decision. As far as I'm concerned, she has to carry the baby to term and that gives her Veto power. Moreover, while I don't want anyone to abort my child and think that life is precious, a religiously biased opinion is meant to be forbidden from debate in matters of public policy; the separation of church and state. An informed democracy is based on citizens with objective points of view so that we do not become some kind of theocracy. People should have the right to choose. The more choices we take from people in the name of "protecting" them the more we destroy freedom. Freedom in a democracy is the ability to make choices without interference from a church, state or profit-making institution. While I do not morally or ethically believe that abortion is right for me, that doesn't mean that I believe that my opinion is objectively right for everyone. That's just arrogance. If you don't agree with abortions, don't have them; but don't try to force everyone else to agree with you.
  • I do believe in abortion, though I wouldnt wan't to have one myself. I have a friend who had an abortion several years abck and I honestly believe it was the best thing. At the time she was still school, living at home with not much of a future ahead of her. Had she had the baby I believe things would have gotten worse from then on. Personally, my number one reason for having an abortion would be if the woman was raped.
  • If your child will not be able to have a good quality of life,i dont agree in life at any cost! As a rule i didnt beleive in it myself but everyone has different reasons and who are we to judge what is good for you may not be for some one else.It isnt a nice thing to do and stays with you for the rest of your life.
  • In the end... That is a sad and very personal choice that one feels they have to make for a lack of knowing what else to do. I don't think that anyone who has ever actually had one themselves would consider it "acceptable" in any case. With the exception of rape.

  • Rape, incest, the pregnancy being a threat to the life or health of the mother, and extreme deformity. Those are the four reasons I would unquestioningly support an abortion.
  • Unless by reason of health or problem birth and deformity ... I see no reason to kill life. No mother was raped by the child inside ... Surely It should be easier to find someone a home ... than it is to make a decision to kill them? Sorry! ... but I love kids ... and the thought of a life being killed before given its right to live a complete and just life by those who got to live theirs ... Does not sit with me. Unless at the end of an aged life by pain ... Any new or young life is no one persons to take. Thankyou
  • the ONLY justifiable reason for abortion is the life of the mother is in danger which happens VERY rarely. rape is NOT justifiable. there are too many options.. the morning after pill being one. the main reason for abortion is birth control. people have sex, get pregnant and then refuse to take responsibility and commit murder.. There is always adoption.. people come up with TONS of excuses to justify it (age, rape, finances, etc).. but the main point of abortion is legalized birth control.
  • Personally, I would only get an abortion if I was in personal danger from the pregnancy, had good reason to believe that I'd be giving birth to a child whose life would be very difficult and painful for everyone involved, or if I was totally unprepared to raise the child. However, most importantly, I would only get an abortion if I were a pregnant woman who was considering having one, which I'm not, and I'd assume that you're not either. Therefor, acceptable reasons for having an abortion aren't up to my discretion, nor yours, nor anyone else's, unless of course it's their abortion. And no matter how much say others may feel that they have in the matter, the actual pregnant woman always has more than anyone except perhaps for the foetus, and I've yet to see one of them get opinionated on the matter.
  • Sometimes girls will do it if they are mad at the guy and he wants to keep it. A man only has legal a responsibility to pay, not a say in important choices like the baby's life or death.
  • If the pregnancy is a risk to the mothers life. :)
  • My Dad once told me about a friend that had been trying for a year to become pregnant.... when she and her husband went in for the ultrasound, they were told to come back for another ultrasound the next day. It turns out the baby had no brainstem.... the rest of it was developing, but the heart wasn't beating and there was of course no movement. The child had a zero chance of survival outside the womb. That was the one and only time I felt an abortion was justified.
