  • no, but he has the highest disapproval rating. Here's a clip from CNN. "Bush's approval rating, which stands at 28 percent in our new poll, remains better than the all-time lows set by Harry Truman and Richard Nixon [22 percent and 24 percent, respectively], but even those two presidents never got a disapproval rating in the 70s,"
  • Sorry, but you aren't correct. The end of term ratings are given below. Jimmy Carter tied 34% as his end of term rating and Nixon only had a 24 % rating. I don't know how long they have charted these but this list goes to Eisenhower in the 1950's & 60's. End-of-Presidency Job Approval Ratings President Rating (%) Bill Clinton (2 terms, D, 2001) 65% Ronald Reagan (2 terms, R, 1989) 64% John F. Kennedy (partial term, D, 1963) 63% Dwight Eisenhower (2 terms, R, 1961) 59% George Bush (1 term, R, 1993) 56% Gerald Ford (partial term, R, 1977) 53% Lyndon Johnson (1+ terms, D, 1969) 49% Jimmy Carter (1 term, D, 1981) 34% Richard Nixon (partial term, R, 1974) 24%
  • Considering that some Presidents are shot and killed because of someone's disapproval, I'd say there have been some with lower rates. Disapproval doesn't necessarily mean a bad Presidency--that's not to say I think W is a good President.
  • Because he is a despicable liar as well as an idiot. How can one graduate from an esteemed college like Yale on a C minus average? My state University would have tossed me out with anything less than a 2.500 average, a C plus.
  • I don't know how far back approval ratings go, but I wouldn't think much farther back than the list someone else posted. However, I would bet that Hoover and Buchanan wouldn't be far off. Remember, however, that Congress is lower than President Bush. Any time the economy tanks, people blame the president. The economy is a cycle and will tank periodically no matter who is in power.
  • No Harry Truman 23% Carter 28% Nixon 24% George W. H. Bush 29%
