I'm going to say yes because one jimi Hendrix got his fender in a pawn shop which is basically a second hand store and he was before the time of the song and he did rise to the top of the charts which is the proper definition of a "Jukebox Hero." He also did a re creation of the star spangled banner on his electric guitar which could be the reason for having stars in his eyes.
