My opinion is that there is no such thing as a "good diet". The only way to lose weight and KEEP it off, is to change your eating habits, permanently. Saying you're on a diet, is implying that you will be off of it one day, and when you "cheat" you feel badly, and are tempted to quit. If you just work on slowly cutting out bad foods, one at a time, and slowly integrating healthy foods in their place, I believe you will be much more successful. Toning is done best with high repetitions of low weight. I use free eights for my arms, and do squats and lunges for my legs and booty :). It's also important to incorporate at least 30 min. of cardio 3 days a week. It's also important to give your body rest, so alternate weight days with cardio days.

The BEST thing you can do for your body is to just figure out what works for YOU. Some peoples bodies can work on low carbs and others cant, etc.... you have to find a balance in your diet and try different things. As far as toning goes i recommend doing a mix of all muscle groups along with short bursts of cardio for ex maybe some jumping jacks for 1 minnute?
