  • A lie is a lie. Period. "Size" doesn't matter. I try not to lie. Most of the time, I am successful.
  • A white lie is usually intended for the benefit of the person you are lying to: "that haircut flatters you" or "you haven't changed since high school". I tell white lies all the time. I call them truth adjustments. It's easier on the conscience.
  • A lie is the untruth regardless of size. Some people like you say call some little white lies which they feel are used to spare someone else's feelings. Example: Does my butt look fat in these jeans? If the person answers yes and is honest. this may hurts the others feelings which they may or may not lash back at them. If they say yes and is honest it isn't a lie. If they say no and are honest then everything is fine, regarding the asker believes the answerer. The thing to keep in mind is by not being honest even in this respect your dishonesty weakens the trust if they should find out later that you have lied. True no one is without lying (we all have done it) anyone says different just lied.
  • You tell a lie to save your own skin You tell a "white lie" to be kind to another
