  • apart from being a great thing to pass down to your daughters and grand daughters, barbies are worth alot un opened, still in their original "great conditioned" packaging, to random collectors. I dont think pre played with ones are worth any thing. Guttard I know how you feel tho, my mother must have sold thousands of dollars worth of our Lego, for 50cents in a garage sale
  • Hate to tell you this... yes, they would be worth something. Probably not as much as you'd like but then again probably more than you thought. The key to price is how good a condition they were in. Hard used Barbies would go for less but 60's Barbies still in their package would be worth an amazing price. Now here's the story part which you can ignore at your leisure... When I was a lad I collected Comic Books. I had an amazing collection. After my marriage, my wife and I decided to have children. We were living in a two bedroom apartment, with one room for us and one for my collection. In order to make room for our family to be we decided to sell the collection. It was in near mint condition bagged and stored properly. Through a combo of selling at a convention and selling to a dealer we managed to get just about a thousand dollars for it. That was in 1980. In 1999, Wizardworld.com had an app on their site that allowed you to type in your collection and they would tell you what it was worth. I started to do so and consistently under-valued the condition of everything... near-mint for mint, fair for mint etc. After a couple of hours of entering (not all in one sitting) I had finished with most of the important comics and wasn't about to bother with the remaining third of my collection. With trepidation I clicked the "calculate" button. My collection would have been worth (had I not sold it) over a quarter of a million dollars! This being not quite twenty years from when I sold it for under a thousand. I hope Blue Star Comics made a lot of money from me. One person's trash is another's collectible. Hope this helps.
  • I was watching the news this evening and a reporter mentioned that a mint Barbie Doll from the 1950's would be worth an upwards of 27,000 (CAD, I think). While your dolls probably won't be worth as much, I'm sure they've collected quite a value over the years.
  • if you played with them prob very littel so dont worry about it.
  • Why bother to stew about something which will do nothing but depress you? Did your father feed you, bring you up right? make you the person you are today? Give him a pass on the Barbies.
  • Heads on or off?
  • You can look and closed out Barbie auctions on eBay and compare prices against what you had. Like Scruff said though, after all these years perhaps you should just let it go.

  • not much if you played with them and lost the boxes - i have a good condition 1962 barbie in a box with book and high heals and she is only worth about $350 i think - we found her in an attic , some little girl didnt get her for xmas because someone forgot where they put her LOL
  • Yes but, if I stll held a grudge for all the things my parents gave away, threw away or that my husband forgot when we moved and just left behind because it wasn't something he wanted. I would be pissed forever. No reason to cry over spilt milk now. It is over and doen and yes it is sad but like every other dissapointment in life, if you stay depressed about it,the only one it hurts is you. Sorry!
  • Things happen, I know. I'm from a big family and it's a wonder I saved some precious items. The dolls would be worth more than your Dad paid for them. I bet he didn't know that.
