  • Deep Roy, the narrator/Oompa Loompa in the more recent adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, has a nice, unique sort of voice. Also, I've always thought Tom Waits should get *Much* more narration work.
  • Any older British man. They have the best documentary voices. Especially if you're watching something about plants or wild animals. Anyone but Gilbert Gottfried.

  • Two names seem to have come up a lot here: Morgan Freeman and James Earl Jones. I'll happily say YES to either of them. Easy on the ears voices and full of rich nuances. Bet Sean Connery would sound good too. Who was that guy way back that used to narrate all those Wild Kingdom tv episodes? His voice worked well for shows like that. To find other voices given the many styles or subjects in documentaries, maybe listen to: (1) voice actors for commercial audiobooks (2) voice actors for animation (series or films) (3) people who have already done narration work in other documentaries or nature programs or ?? (4) actors or actresses we like - hoping they would agree to voice acting? (5) a member of our family, community, "someone" .. with no training, but lots of voice personality? lol
