No. I've experienced both and they are strikingly different. Love definitely exists, it's just far more rare than people think. I think the biggest difference in the two is that love endures while lust peters out eventually.

I trust that all the verses, poetry and dramas singing the praises of true love throughout history can't all be wrong. Perhaps I reconsider if you become famous for discovering that love is just a figment of our imagination, !!! like a wet fart, "pffft", gone!
