Very "surprised". I do know what pneumonia can do, though. It can come on suddenly and there may be nothing that can be done. What brings on the pneumonia can be a number of things. I regret the loss of Bernie very much....

Shocked, no. I find it sad and ironic. Bernie Mac's style always reminded me of Robin Harris, another comedian who died soon after his career started to take off. May he rest in peace.

*America, you just lost one of your favorite entertainers. Here he was, acting, stand-up comic performing, and all of the sudden that's all over. A man in his 50s just leaving us like that, all the while Castro lives on forever? That isn't justice, America, that's tragic.* May his family and friends endure this loss, as they are the ones who really lost one they love and not the general American public. He will be missed by many, but nowhere near compared to the way his family shall miss him. If lemonade could be made of lemons on this one, we shall enjoy the "Bernie Mac" marathon the local channels are surely to do soon here.

I dont want to sound callous, but who the f*** cares? He was not a very funny comedian to begin with. He was famous only because he was black. There is no reason to give celebrities more credit than they are due, or more respect, or more appreciation, or more mourning. Billy Joe, the guy that lives two doors down from me... his second cousin just died. Im not going to post about it. And I dont expect you to mourn for his cousin, either. Why would I care one way or another about this Big Mac dude? Just another Joe. Its sad when anyone dies, but you cant mourn for them all. And its better to mourn for no one than to be a hypocrite about who you mourn for and why.
