Commander Riker, having been given Q's powers, granted Geordi his sight briefly, but Geordi asked Riker to take it away (TNG: "Hide and Q"). He briefly regained it on Bak'u (Star Trek: Insurrection) but apparently lost it again when the ship left the influence of the metaphasic radiation that surrounds the planet.

During the Star Trek: TNG Movie, he was given NEW eyes, that acted as his normal eyes, so that he could get rid of his Visor. His new eyes had all the capabilities of his visor, but they allowed him to see like any normal human, but with other capabilities that a human could only get from using outside equipment or gadgets.
