i really think the part inside us that really wants the truth is our curiosity and our conscience curiosity makes us want to know things and our conscience tells us that the truth is the best you can get

Our true nature. You can explain it in both religious or agnostic way. Our nature, fom God and our end to going back to Him will lead us to seek the truth even if we do not openly accept it. Our nature as an enery entity (pure energy in different vibration levels is the most basic component of all things)will seek the perfect state of balance of the universe which will trigger the seek for knowledge and growth. The truth, in all the aspects, is the baseline for all knowledge.

Our need to know how everything works as a human. That's our nature, our seeking of the truth is partly why men are dominant of earth.
