I'm SOOOOO waiting to bang a gong on the heads of more than a few Koopas with those SWEET motion sensor controls! Just like being there! I love Nintendo, as a gaming platform. It's games are not the "life like" action of either Microsoft's Xbox or Sony's Playstation, but they are highly creative and fun. Also, these controllers offer truly unique way to interact with the games, so I imagine that we will see some types of games that the other platforms won't really be able to mimic (although, I have heard that the PS3 has similar controllers, as a system add-on, but that they are not nearly as sophisticated as the Wii's).

That I'm getting it.

I think it's innovative like most Nintendo things. I'm going to wait for a while until its cheaper and the games are more widespread. I think console vendors are focusing far too much on graphics and superficial game elements that detract from the meaning of the video game: entertainment in a way that challenges the player so they want some more (something known as gameplay). The Nintendo Wii is set to have great gameplay. It will probably be a great games console as a consequence.

I think it is a unique idea; however,it may not do so well. The controllers seem fun but I think they would get old..quick. Not to impressed but I haven't really been to much of a nintendo fan my whole life...
-
Highly anticipated, totally awesome, and a much better value than the PlayStation 3. Shall I go on?
-
i dont like it very much at all.. its just the damn controller, a little bit TOO unique for me. ill stick to xbox 360
-
I think it has a lot of potential. It is the lowest costing system and has its own unique gameplay experience. However not being able to play next generation dvd's and sub par hd-dvd will ultimately be its downfall. Kids will love it, but the older crowd will stick to PS3 and Xbox 360.

i think that nintendo Wii is a great system for the older audilts that are us to playing things like sega, and super nintendo, were there is only a few buttons to press - but on an xbox or xbox360 their is to many for them to keep up on...that is what i think of nintendo wii

I KNOW the Wii is a boatload of fun, but not only are the games like Twilight Princess and Red Steel fun, but that controller is super cool! Sure it may take some time for people to get the hang of it, but it's a lot of fun, otherwise. I own one and I can say as a professional gamer that it will be mostly fun for the kids, but may appeal to some adults too. Most adults, unfortunately, just love graphics and blowin someone's head off with a shotgun. If those people would actually take the time to play a good game instead of a gory one, they would appreciate it much more.

It is amazing and I am definetly buying it. It is worth it?

I love it so far. The new Wii remotes are so versatile and easy-to-use. The controls are so intuitive; it's so easy to pick up the motions and the new controls. And, it gets gamers off the couch in small ways. I enjoy it, I've seen beginners and hardcore gamers enjoy it, I've seen younger kids enjoy it, my parents are practically addicted to it and they've never gotten into video games before... There's a lot you could do with this console. So the graphics aren't mind-blowing, but if you're in it for the games, it's simply a lot of fun.

Here's what I think about it... http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9136575504838642038&hl=en

I definitly think that the people at nintendo's marketing division are phenomenal! They arent directly competing with Sony or Microsoft, they've been out of the consol wars for a while now, but they are also reaching out to two key groups 1 those idividuals who still like games that dont nessecarily involve learning new combo's glitches and boss weaknesses 2 nintendo fanboys, most of us sony players are nintendo fanboys at heart. Also they are going to be the first console with a fully articulated and implemented motion sensor controller, meaning that the other consoles need to step up or bow out.

I beleive the Nintendo Wii has a unique concept with a huge potention that could bouy Nintendo into the more mainstream enertainment market. Its sucess all depends on if the public will accept the ideas attached to Wii. Overall the Wii is a great value ($250) and poses a innovative solution to the problems threating the video gaming industry today.

I think that I want one for christmas. Seriously though I think the Wii will spank the PS3. Its a new way to play video games that people of all ages can enjoy. (that and the ps3 only had 400,000 units available at launch and nintendo had TONS more wiis available.) I'm not sure why people are so concerned with graphics though. All I've been hearing is "oh the wii isn't as good as the PS3 because the graphics suck!" Its all about the way the games play and not how pretty the characters on screen look.
-
Ok yeah the controller is cool but the graphics are a bit naff and nintendo can never be bothered to invest in decent games.... looks like it's mario again.
-
I just think it is cool enough to get one right now!

Here's a good commercial

I am mixed. On the one hand, it forces gamers to be quite a bit more active in defiance of the couch-potato image. Six rounds of boxing and I was winded. On the other hand, the controls are not quite up-to-par. The boxing game highlighted this especially well. It could NOT keep up with me; I moved too quick. And as for precision, it's barely passable when moving slowly and gets worse as your movements speed up.

everything i've read tells me it's superslick. now if only i could find one to buy that's not marked up 300%, good times would be had.

WIIerd as in unique.

I loved the Super Nintendo. My dad and I would play it together all the time. It was easy to pick up and play and most importantly have fun. The Super Nintendo is still my favorite console. Than the game cube came out. It tried to compete with the PS2 and the Xbox but it was all complex gaming to me and more for my dad. I didn't like it and I think it pushed away some people from gaming as fun as it still might have been. I think that the Nintendo Wii is the solution to that problem. It is cheap, easy to play, fun to play with people, and just over all fun. The Wii is creative and making a bold statement by making things less complex and more fun friendly.

The Wii is so awesome. It is unfortuante though that Nintendo priced the controllers at 40 bucks apiece not including the nunchuk. If only I had the $250. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii or try http://wii.nintendo.com/

It's incredibly innovative, and unlike the DS, right out of the gate we're getting more than just gimmicky games. It's all on the developer's shoulders, but there's certainly more than enough potential to make games for the next 5 or 6 years on the console.
-
its great i own one
-
its me gavansio and i think it is garbage to the fulles ok
-
its very fun and keeps you active. it great when you have a party
-
I like it alot. It's not the best console in the world, but it certainly is in my top 3. I'm hoping Nintendo has the cojones to stick by it, though, as sometimes they abandon things too soon in their lifespan.
-
I dig it... I think the Wii Sports and Wii Play are good starter games to keep you occupied temporarily and learn the controls, but Super Paper Mario and Zelda: Twilight Princess keep me coming back for more :) Plus, Rayman Raving Rabids is hilarious and fun to play, both for kids and adults alike ;)
-
Its a pretty fun console, but I think you should be a fan of the nintendo games to really like the wii.
-
I love it and wish I owned one
