If I buy a DVD from an internet site in the USA, will it work ok on a player in the UK?

Nope. I have that problem with all the movies I brought with me when I moved to Belgium from the states. My husband and I have to hook up our portable DVD player (which was coded for US movies) to our TV when we want to watch the US ones.

unless its a region free dvd player then no they won't.uk is region 2 usa is region 1.

I'm not sure about this but I guess it's the dvd players that are region locked.

Very simple : If your DVD player is region locked, it won't work, because the region is different. If your DVD player is region free, it will work, because the DVD will not be locked. You can either : - Download AnyDVD and install it if you're watching your DVD's on your computer. It will unlock the region protection. - Buy a region free DVD player - Unlock your present DVD player at a local store. Most of them do it for not much.

You also can copy DVD movie to your computer, then watch it in your computer.many DVD ripper have this funcation.
