  • I don't think it matters, and I've never understood why that question is asked on applications for employment.
  • I don't think it matters professionally, so to speak, but I do think that being single can sometimes alienate you socially at work. I work at a place where everyone seems to be paired off, and cannot fathom why someone would be single. It can be rather uncomfortable at times, and I naturally become the odd one out because I do not have a significant other to bring to gatherings or complain about during the day.
  • I don't see why it should. Although I think some companies prefer single women..married women tend to get pregnant and throw a wrench in the smooth flow of the work getting done efficiently! :)
  • What exactly is your question? I had an answer but it was along a different line that every one else had in mind.
  • Yeah, unfortunately. I think I get taken more seriously if I say I'm married - I think they assume you are stable and more mature. big assumption.
