Its a social problem actually admitting that you are aware of your better points in that people usually immediately after, treat you like crap, covet what you have or call you shallow and self righteous. There is an old Chinese custom when a new baby is introduced for the first time that everyone says how ugly it is "that is the worst looking child I have ever seen." and "This baby is nothing at all." it sounds better in Chinese... They do this to confuse the spirits that will wish it harm if they actually say how beautiful it really is. It is a smart practice to exhibit modesty for that very reason because there are not enough people in the world that will actually be happy for you or wish you well. That is something that must first be cultivated and then intentionally practised in the human heart. So I take the 5th on this one.
