If it's been fine until recently, take it to the vet for a checkup.

It may have an underlying medical condition which is causing your dog to act this way. Unless it is a breed which is in their genes to attack, your dog would not act this way without reason.

I would consider trying to find it a new home first. You could advertise in the paper and clearly state that the dog isn't safe for kids.

You could also drop it off at your local humane society (dog pound) since they would also try to find it a new home.

Please, please, please.. don't have the dog put down, take it to an animal welfare centre.. they'll know what to do and will be able to make a better judgement on the best course of action.

biting is normally i sign of miss trust, or unhappiness. don't kill your dog because of it, he probably doesn't mean it.

    heres what to do.

buy a big dog cage, an indoor one, somthing big and comfortable. This is nown as a punishement.

when your dog bites or attemps to bite, put him/her in the cage for a couple of hours.

now if she is in the position to bite, or acts carm and collectively, reward then. give them a treat or play with him/her.

now if this doesn't work, go to a dog trainer.

oh btw, its probably best if you keep the dog away from the children when he/she is in a bad mode.

    hope this helps.

You need to take your dog to an animal behaviourist. He or she will be able to give you info on why you dog is behaving like it is. Please DON'T put the dog down until you explore this avenue. It might be something that is able to be corrected. Please let me know what happens. Good luck.

I had one once that wouldn't allow anyone to take his food away from him. A little girl tried to take his bone and he nipped her. My insurance company told me to get rid of the dog.

I advertised in the local paper and an older farmer who lived alone took him. He was a great dog. Just had that tendency. And, I don't know If he could have been broken from this.
