Girl moves to new town so that her mother can travel with her boyfriend. Girl is clumsy. Girl becomes smitten with the most beautiful boy in school. Boy magically falls in love with this girl, like every other male character in the series. Their loves reaches epic status within the first 'week' of being together. Oh yeah, he's a vampire. Someone tries to kill her, he tries to kill himself because he thinks she's dead, a werewolf wants her bad but she's taken...yadda...she realizes she loves the werewolf too. And the girl goes to the PROM with the vampire, so sweet. I didn't read the newest book, because the first three were irritating enough. I bought the three book boxed-set sale because all of my friends told me how amazing the books were. I felt like I wasted my life reading them, and I sincerely hoped that something amazing was going to happen, something that would justify my friends losing their minds over this series. But no. It still amazes me that this Stephenie Meyer woman is making money. She should be paying us. And if you're wondering if I am jealous, I am. I wish that the stories I wrote hung-over and half-asleep could sell like hers.

In all honesty, it's not so much the age that matters, it's your sex. It'll be of extremely limited appeal to you if you're a guy. Ditto if you're not interested in romance, or vampires/gothic subculture. This is coming from an avid reader.
