It's more than okay. Maybe one out of two hundred thousand will say it's gross. But they're freaks anyway and girls shouldn't be snogging with them. A hickey is super pleasurable and a wonderful compliment. Although it shouldn't be done right in front of people, it's also a fair substitute for sex when you can't be together in the more private setting. ADDED: Come to think of it, when I brought one to work, the reaction I got from the staff (all women) made the hickey she gave me very worth it.

it is kind of like marking your territory and bragging rights... other than that I do not see hickies as anything. but far greater for bragging rights than a hickey is when my wife makes my back bleed with her nails not knowing it... if I have to explain why she does not know what she is doing then you are too young to know.

Yes, I have. It's kind of rude to do to a guy. Better to do it as revenge if he gave you one. Guys can't cover it up as well as girls can. (with makeup, hair, etc.)
