That is unAmerican! As my cousin would say, "That just ain't right." It needs to be PB on one piece of bread and jelly on the other. It is the joining of the two pieces of bread that creates the PB&J.

I put the PB on one slice and the jelly on the other. Then I wipe the knife off on the back of the sandwich to make it easier to wash (and to get all the PB Jelly). Actually, who cares? It's just a PB and J sandwich that is gone in a few minutes anyway. Not a gormet treat by any measure.

No, the only time I put peanut butter on both slices of bread is when I'm making a peanut butter & banana sandwich. Then the peanut butter holds the banana slices from both sides!
