    I have used Hotwire, and I would recommend it. You can get some pretty good deals. You just have to be deal with the fact that you cannot choose your hotel (just the category) and you lose your money if you cancel. Very broadly speaking, I have found the best deals at the higher end hotels.

    My son swears by it. They always stay at 4 star hotels for very little money. They've never been disappointed.
