Also, same as above but the asking price is $1000. I'm aware this is a bit of a stretch to ask, but am researching for one ($300) that is or sounds almost 'as good as' a more expensive guitar ($1000).

THE BEST suggestions I can offer: 1) Read the ads for the flea markets, yard sales and garage sales in the weekly local papers. 2) Check the pawn shops [a/k/a "hock shops"].
