  • I may only be a man, and not even a father, but it would seem to me that this should be the least of your worries at this time.
  • To be quite honest as someone who has been in the hospital on bed rest and couldn't upkeep at the time-no one cares if you have a forest down there. I have had 3 children and I was very young for the first one and believe me when I tell you that no one will pay any attention if you don't have a wax job before hand. My second two children I had plenty of time after labor started to upkeep, but if you don't it won't make you look like a stupid bimbo. They just care your baby is delivered safely!
  • I don't really think it would matter either way unless your trying to pick up your OB but if it would make you feel better I say go for it.
  • You will probably urinate and poop when you are pushing out the baby so a little extra hair down there should not phase anyone. If you can get your man to trim up a bit down there, couldn't hurt, but as far as waxing goes, seems a bit unnecessary since doctors aren't like lovers, they are there for the birth of the baby and not sexual appeal.
  • I would think it likely that the hospital staff have seen it all, in every possible variant. So the only person you have to worry about is yourself - do whatever makes *you* feel comfortable.
  • You know when I was having babies (30 years ago) it would not have mattered because they shaved it all off anyway, and did not do a very job of it either! I don't think they do that anymore, so do whatever makes you feel better, because for a few years that will be the least of your worries.
  • I agree with the man below me, it should be the least of your worries and i dont think they would care, they would be trying to get your baby out ... :) smile..its natural anyways.
  • Thanks for asking the question I wanted answers to
  • No one will notice, believe me! You can't be worrying about that kind of thing. Childbirth is messy, and primal, and not real pretty. No one is going to expect you to look "well-groomed." They're going to expect you to make barbaric noises and probably poo a little bit. That's childbirth. [goes off, singing, "I am woman, hear me roar...."]
  • you really shouldnt worry but you will not look like a bimbo for sure..waxing ur bikini is just being clean. with my 1st i got brazilian wax every month till the end.with my 2nd i was more sensative it hurt i couldnt stand it. since my labor was going to be induced i knew the date so i went to my wax lady with razors and had her shave...lol..i just hate hair on my body i think its dirty...but again it gets very uncomfortable when u get big and sensative as well dont pay any attention do what u feel comortable doing..
  • weeeelllll considering you'll have a baby, blood, placenta, and possibly poo along with sweat and other kinds of funk all over the place in that region I don't think a doc is gonna really take too much notice of whether or not you got the shrubs trimmed or not
  • ACTUALLY, ITS IN "WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING", THAT ITS A GOOD IDEA TO KEEP GROOMED. I MEAN THINK ABOUT IT, WOULD YOU WANT TO COME OUT THROUGH AN UNGROOMED YOU KNOW WHAT?? HOWEVER, I DONT THINK YOU NEED TO GO AS FAR AS GETTING WAXED. A RAZOR JOB IS FINE. AND YOU WONT LOOK LIKE A BIMBO AT ALL. THEY PROBABLT DONT EVEN NOTICE REGARDLESS, THEY SEE HUNDREDS A MONTH. I MEAN, ITS NO DIFFERENT THAN GOING FOR YOUR NORMAL YEARLY EXAM. YOU'RE PROBABLY SHAVED THEN, RIGHT??
  • You can actually see your bikini line beneath that big ol' pregnant belly? Seriously, I would'nt even bother. Do you know how many vaginas doctors see each day? They don't give a crap if it's hairy or not! They don't even notice.
  • Anytime you remove hair, by any method, you are setting up the possibility of a staph infection. Have you never gotten zits in hair follicles after removing hair? The absolute last thing you want is any kind of infection around your vulva when you deliver. Ask your doctor, he or she will be glad to tell you. That is why they don't shave women before delivery anymore like they used to. The theory used to be that the hair carried germs and was an infection risk. But over time, they realized that the real risk was the little infections you get after removing the hair. Why is this important? Because your uterus is going to be open to the world after you push that baby out. Infection rushes in. Your defenses are down, because your immune system is suppressed to keep it from attacking the baby during pregnancy. Where the placenta comes "unbuttoned" you basically have open wounds. The cervix is open, the vagina is stretched and air rushes in. The last thing you want is that air carrying staph in with it. Women used to die of "childbed fever." It wasn't even uncommon. Animals did too. Antibiotics and aseptic practices drove it back, but there are superbugs now that are resistant to antibiotics, and as they prosper, I expect we are going to see "childbed fever" or an infection of the uterus after childbirth, rise again. Don't take the risk. Who cares whether you have hair there. Unless you are wanting to turn on child molesters, there should be hair there anyway. Grown women have hair there. Besides, if you plan on being a good mother, you aren't going to have time to worry about things like that again for a very long time. For the next several months, you are going to be lucky to get a shower every day.
