  • I've been giving this one a bit of though myself since having re-watched the first Toy Story recently. I figure that although he thinks he's a Space Ranger, that doesn't make hime stupid. He takes his lead from the rest of the toys and doesn't move when Andy's around. You'll notice that there are a couple of times where he doesn't hesitate to move while Woody remains still. These are, when they see the large truck approaching them at the gas station (Buzz dives out the way while Woody almost gets run over!) and when they hitch a ride on the Pizza Planet van (Here, he rides shotgun and wears a seatbelt) He doesn't move in the presence of Sid for one good reason: Woody tells him not to.
