I have to go to a few courts (of justice) for my law assignment. Then I have to write a report on what I saw... what are some things I should pay attention to and make notes on?

Not being a law student, but have an interest, perhaps.... reporting the way the defendants dressed, what arguments the defence and prosecuter presented to the judge. Which were struck out and why? How many times the barristers had to check the relevent arguments in their text books, whom the prosecuter or defence lawyer spoke more with authenticity then the other, and upon hearing the case from start to finish, would you have convicted or let free the accussed? And why??
