i probably spend about $10-15 on each gift. u dont want to spend to much and make them feel bad and u dont want to spend to little and make them feel that they are not important. so i usually spend somewhere inbetween :)

I don't have a set amount- I just look for things that I think the person would like. Sometimes the best presents end up being the cheapest. Some of the best presents I've had have been second hand books and clothes costing a couple of pounds. To be honest, other than taking reasonable account of what you can and can't afford, I think its a bit cynical to think too much about money when choosing gifts. The best things in life are supposed to be free after all.

I come from a large extended family, I buy for my Mom, and my kids and grandkids. That is all. I dont buy for sisters or their families. I spend about $100 per person that I buy for. That is all I can afford, so they take it and be happy or they can not like it. I dont care which. I never have cared much for Christmas anyway except for celebrating the birth of Christ. I dont like all the Santa Clause and commercial hype, I dont send cards, I dont put up trees, I dont decorate the house with lights and all that crap. To be honest, if it wasnt for the grandkids, I probably would not do any of it.
