  • I get sleep paralysis if that counts. Both are in the same nature of sleeping disorders and symptoms and what can cause them, although triggered by slightly different factors.
  • I had them as a child very bad but not since I have been an adult.
  • My first night terror was at age 19. I'm 43 now and when under stress, or very tired, I'll have a night terror.Sometimes- I'll have a string of them over a week and then they just disappear for a year. I've had them enough throughout my life that when I start to wake up from one..(while running down the hall or screaming my head off) I tell myself: "stand still, this must be a night terror, go back to bed". It will take some time before I reach that point though, but at least it keeps me safe. AND- when I go back to bed, it's the best nights rest I've had in a long time! In my experience, night terrors are scary for the person who has to sleep with those having one!
  • Yes, I was under extreme stress and I had night terros and nightmares. I was afraid to go to sleep.
  • Yes, these are common among people with Bipolar Disorder, though.
  • sounds like anxiety attacks. Mine often used to strike at night. I would wake in terror, feeling like I was going to die. I was lucky enough to be taught a control method, though, and can stop them in their tracks now. I don't get night terrors any more. Go to my webpage: www.webpastor.com/panic.htm and see if the method can help you, too. All the best
  • Never, my best friend has though. I didn't believe they were real until I saw him have one.
  • I have not, but my friend's husband has them often. It is exhausting for them. They are currently seeing a therapist and she's helping them to deal with the frequent nightmares.
