My daughter also takes Zoloft, she was at a lower dose but the doctor upped the dosage to 100 mg to take 1 1/2 pills so 150 mg, she has alot of shaking as well. it is often bothersome for her so until she can get into the doctor she only takes 1/2 the dosage and it has seemed to be helpful doing that.

What Zoloft did to me was to take my sexuality away....almost completely! I had no sexual drive or desires of any kind....I was like a little kid until my doctor switched to Wellbutrin SR. All sexual predators that are arrested and jailed should be forced to take Zoloft. Maybe they will get the same effect that Zoloft gave me for a few days.

When I started taking Zoloft I had a nervous shakiness for about 2 months. I thought that it would never go away, and I was very scared. Now I have been on it for almost a year and would not be without it. Some of the side effects I have experienced are: Shakiness, Weight gain, increased energy, and some sexual side effects.

I would call your doctor during business hours and leave a message. Unless it is really intolerable. If it is then you can call his/her answer service.

The answer is yes, the higher the dosage the more risk of agitation and shaking. I would call your doctor and explain, and have him or her cut you back, till you feel leveled out, not nervous or shaky. Six weeks is a short time from going to 25 to 100, so please call him soon ok?

1st off, let me state I'm NOT an M.D... but I have a lot of schooling and experience in medicine. That is quite a fast dose increase in a short period of time. I'm surprised any Dr. would prescribe that way because that type of drug typically takes a MINIMUM of 10 days to start working and even out in serum levels. You generally wait about a month before gauging effects. In addition, not all depression is caused or accompanied by anxiety, and although Zoloft works good on depression, I don't recall ever seeing it prescribed for anxiety as there are many much more effective medications that target anxiety. It's possible that you're just on too high a dose too quickly, and since it may not be addressing your anxiety, it may be increasing. NOW, I WANT TO BE CLEAR... this is just my opinion, and I say it because many folks out there self medicate and change their own doses. I'm not saying you're doing that... and I'm most certainly NOT criticizing your M.D.... who may have very valid reasons for his chosen treatment. It is just my experience/opinion to reading your question and is what I would tell a close friend if they asked. Only a Dr. could give you the best answer especially since one would need to know what other meds you are taking along with it, and what your [physical] health status is. You might consider asking your Dr. about Xanax or Elavil if you haven't tried these yet. They are often prescribed along with antidepressants for anxiety. Good luck.

most anxiety/depression drugs can cause nervousness and shaking but normally they go within the first few weeks. if this is bothering you you should mention it to your doctor on your next visit.
