  • Oatmeal is supposed to reduce it. If you are taking it seriously, don't eat anything that comes from an animal as that is the only way that you add cholesterol to your body. Your body manufactures it, and some have a genetic predisposition of being unable to cope with adding to it.
  • Things that are lo-fat and high fiber. Fiber absorbs liquid, including fat and cholesterol, in the stomach and conducts it down the chute. Seafood containing omega 3 acids is an excellent way to reduce cholesterol. Salmon and tuna are two. Fresh water fish contain much less. Fish oil capsule supplements with omega 3 have been known to control cholesterol as good as doctor prescribed medications with none of the side effects.
