  • Talk to your doctor. That's just gross, and worrisome.
  • !! GO SEE YOUR OBGYN N-O-W !! Although I'm not an MD, I am in the medical profession and fairly knowledgable. In addition I recently saw some reliable info. on TV that addressed this issue, specifically. Occasionally women will ask the common question... "Can a tampon go up further and get lost in me?" The answer is no, it will only go so far in your reproductive organs yet a tampon,(or any other small object) CAN lodge itself in an area or small pocket which may not be visible to you vaginally, yet your DR. can locate it with a speculum. A lodged tampon in this area is very dangerous and can cause serious infection and is potentially lethal. It is the same risk that coined the name for the tampon related condition, "Toxic Shock Syndrome" I'm not trying to scare you, and if that was the case, you probably would have become very sick a couple of weeks ago. Check your temp. right away as it is one good indicator of infection...but NOT foolproof. If there is even a 10% chance in your mind that you have one inside, it's well worth a trip to the DR. Not doing so isn't worth the risk of losing not only your ability to bear children, but losing your life. And it's not safe to poke around in there (you or your partner) to look for it because if it has been in there this long you could dislodge it from a stable position and/or cause any infection to release faster into your blood system. Also, douching could do the same by stripping or reducing your vag/uterine walls of the normal protective balance and a strong odor may be a strong indicator of something wrong. Good Luck!
  • If I were you, I would first, before anything, take it out! And do it in the bathroom....because it might be very very gross when it does come out.
  • HI, I FOUND THIS SITE BECAUSE I WAS SEARCHING FOR AN ANSWER TO THE SAME QUESTION BUT THE TAMPON DID COME OUT OF ME AND IT SMELLED REALLY BAD I HAD JUST MADE AN APPOINTMENT TODAY TO SEE A DR. CAUSE I THOUGHT I HAD A BLADDER INFECTION SO I WAS WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE PEOPLE THAT WENT TO THE DOCTOR FOR THIS????? THANK YOU!!!!! AND I WILL LET YOU KNOW AFTER I GO TO THE DOCTOR!
  • Get a Doctor to remove it IMMEDIATELY you could suffer from Anaphalactic Shock Which I can assure you is lethal
  • I would go to an ER ASAP, since you can get "Toxic Shock Syndrome" from that, and it actually has caused a few deaths. Don't spend time asking us anymore...see a doctor soon!
  • Go to your doctor - fast!
  • Come on gang, sounds like a bogus "shock" question to me.
  • I had to go to Urgent Care at the hospital last night because of this problem. I have had a vile odour from down below the last few days. I wondered if I had somehow lwft a tampon in last month. I started to feel sick yesterday and 'unwell'. I went to the hospital and there it was. It was not easy for the doctor to see the tampon, or get it but he did. I now have a very, very bad infection as he put it and have to start a course of 'double whammy' anti-biotics.
  • uhmm i did the samme thing. i left it in for 3 weeks, had a terrible odour for about 2 weeks straight. one night i went to the bathrom and felt a ball of string , and felt it, realizing it was the string to my tampon, i pulled it out and screamed at the top of my lungs! at that point i went to the emergency room, and was GOING to get tested, until i found out the only doctor working was male... so i passed on that. Now im extremley scared, its been about 3 days, i havent felt sick or ANYTHING of the sort, ive just felt different from normal.. close to dizzy but not really ? im confusssssseeeedd.. :'(
  • Get to the Dr ASAP! Toxic Shock Syndrome is a very serios! Along with TSS who can get horrible yeast and bladder infections from all the bacteria build up from having a tampon in for that long! (hence the smell) Also it can lead to many other problems, one fertility probs.. GO!!
  • How come you cannot reach in there and remove it? Get to an emergency room today.
  • go to the hospital
