  • I don't think it's a free card. I do know you can change your last name however you want. Changing your name to Ann Jones Smith is just changing your last name, without the hyphen. Your middle name remains there and the same. You can choose to hyphenate, you can choose to keep your name or you can only take his name. It's all up to you. I have chosen to not hyphenate my name but that is my choice.

  • The rule is that if your name is Ann Marie Smith, and you are marrying Tom Jones; your name will now be Ann M.Smith-Jones. You cannot turn the name around.
