  • A Guardian ad Litem is a person appointed on bealf of a child in coustody cases. They are appointed in cases where the adult parties can not agree on what is best for the minor. n my state they are appointed when either party requests it and the cost is then paid by that person. Something that varies with this also is their back ground. In our county here, they are required to be an attorney, that is not always the case. One county over, my uncle is one and yet he is a realtor. I know that he had to go through training of some sort though.
