Coccinellidae is the proper name for the Family that ladybugs fall into, and there are over 5,000 different species of ladybug known. The same term (Coccinellidae or Ladybug) applies to the male and female. There is a joke which states that a male ladybug might be called a "laddie-bug", but it's got not much to do with biology.
