Recently, I started noticing that many people on TV (presenters/newscasters/actors/etc., have one of their eyes that is mishapen or is odd-looking. Is this common in the general population or are the TV folk inbred ?

It is common in the general population of people reading their lines off of a telepromter while trying to look like they are looking into the camera.
