Robinson shouldered the burden and carried the weight of breaking the colour barrier in baseball -- but it is an ignorant America that does not recognise the first man to do it. It wasn't Robinson. Americans should be ashamed for ignoring the man who broke the colour barrier -- Moses "Fleetwood" Walker was the first man of African descent to break the colour barrier and play in the major leagues more than 45 years before Robinson was born. I agree that this was one of the beginning factors of the total intregration movement. Moses "Fleetwood" Walker was an earlier Africian of Amercian descent to play baseball in the 1800's but this was a forgotten incident. Perhaps there weren't enough players ready for the intregration wave or baseball didn't have a good enough following at that time to focus on the events with the energy needed.
