Depends how long they have been gone. If they stayed for even a short period of time, that qualifies them as a tenant at will. I would ask an attorney in your area or call the Courthouse.

in Pennsulvania, you must give them written notice for them to remove the items within a specific time ( 30 days)
or you will dispose of it. regular mail and registered or certified.

Different rules for different belongings. Best idea is to notify pal in writing of dates, times s/he'll be able to retrieve the stuff by a deadline within the month. Explain that you are not a commercial storage facility and never agreed to a bailment contract of any kind. Consequently, items unclaimed by deadline will be disposed of according to your discretion. People are not allowed to impose bailment contracts on good samaritans. But do put it all in a one-pager cc to you just in case. This would show a court you took reasonable steps to contact 'pal.'

You're reading I let a friend stay with me becuz they got kicked out of where they were living and they have since moved out of my place but won't come and get their belongings, can I get rid of them myself if they've been asked and written to remove the stuff
