Laughing gas made me nauseous and throw up. Epidural didn't work until baby was out and I now have back pain right where it went in over 11 years ago. Also they slowed down my labor. So my last 2, I have opted for totally natural and it was wonderful. Due any day with my fourth child and I am picking natural.

I was given 2 tylenol tablets during childbirth, I wanted to choke the nurse (she could've given me an injection)...turned out to be natural childbirth and very painful...I hurt for weeks and weeks after I had my son. I don't think everyone is built to have natural childbirth. I think that boys head broke something...

No, I had a WONDERFUL experience with pain relieving drugs during labour. My first child I had naturally. I was only in labour about 10 hours, but the last couple hours of that weren't very pleasant and hurt a lot. While it was okay and I could do it again, I had a hard time healing and was VERY tired afterwards. My second child I had made friends with the head of anesthesiology at the hospital, who volunteered to come in and do an epidural for me even if he wasn't on duty. It went down very differently the second time, but I didn't go into the hospital until much later than I had with the first and then got the epidural right away. Then I SLEPT through (literally) the part that with the first one had been miserable, and woke up only when my body was prepared to push, and the baby was out within ten minutes, and I was MUCH more aware of what was going on. Now I understand that my situation was unusual, partly in that I had an exceptional anesthesiologist who was taking his time and not in any hurry. (He said in his legal disclaimer thingy that 1 in 5 epidurals has headaches and 1 in 10 some other problems... and that of all the ones HE'S done in some 10,000 of them, only TWO have had problems. And my only "problem" with it was it took my left leg a while to wake up. If I EVER have another kid, I will have an epidural again. In fact, my mother-in-law who was there for both, and who was VERY against having an epidural, said that if she ever were to have a kid, she'd probably do it too!
