• Its a fine line...lazy or efficient?
• Thanx to good ole "texting"!!!!! I think that has a lot to do with it:)
• I jst dnt knw, thx 4 the qstn tho :)
• You've just hit on my pet peeve...laziness pure and simple, with a total disregard for the english language and it's richness.

• I think it is more out of habit with the fad of texting than laziness but I suppose it could be some of both.
• I don't think it's laziness. If they text or IM a lot, using tnx instead is faster, it's more like talking. If they spell out every letter, it's less like talking. It's certainly not about spelling since I see you spell fingers finjers. ;)
• u mean a cpl of xtra x's?
• wel wee r amaricans sow it cood go eether way no?
• >>Is it laziness or lack of knowledge of the English Language?<< It's both. Younger teenie weenies with below-average IQ use teen-speak to obfuscate their abysmal language skills. By pretending to be dumber than they are, they create the illusion that they're merely putting on an act. They're not. They really are that dumb.
• You are seeing a cross over from the text language of the hand held cellphone message. They think in "text speak" and therefore type that way. For some of us "old fogeys" it is incomprehensible.
• dri sens ov humer no??? ouch -5???
• I think it's a mix of 2 things. 1 is like on AB you only have so much space to answer, to truncate the spelling and message to make it fit is common 2 is with cellphones and other texting devices it is easy to use text speech and make a shorter message that can just as easily be understood. IT wasn't so long ago secretaries used short hand to take notes and such, this isn't really much different. People say it is incomprehensible but we should all probably get used to it, since it is efficient and texting devices aren't going away.
