  • Mummy Dearest. No one will ever truly know this answer.
  • It depends on if you are asking who/what is the oldest know naturally occurring mummy or an artificially preserved one. I believe some of the oldest known artificially preserved mummies were found were the Chinchorro mummies in Chile and are about 7000 years old. I have heard there are other artificially preserved mummies found elsewhere in the world dating back to that time as well. There are much older naturally occurring mummies in the world, for example a mummy found near Carson City, Nevada dates back to 7420 B.C making it the oldest known mummy found in North America.
  • No VampyreBat, a pretty poor guess would be Ramses the Great. Clearly you know nothing of history. Rameses II (the Great) dates to the New Kingdom, two thousand years after Egyptian civilization (and mummification) began. The earliest artificial Egyptian mummy dates from ca. 3500 BC. Yarnlady is mistaken, her information comes from a poor website. The Great Pyramid dates to 2600 BC, but there are earlier pyramids and earlier mummies, and pharaohs were mummifed long before nobles. The Chinchorro mummies are currently dated to ca. 5000 BC, but that dating is disputed.
