I don't know about Phoenix, but my Dad had a heart attack 5 years ago, and they transported him from Fredericksburg,Tx, to San Antonio, (about 60 miles) and it was $900.00 for the ride.

Fees are based on the type of transport. A BLS (Basic Life Support) transport starts around $500. This is no IV's, meds, etc. There is generally additional charges for supplies like oxygen, bandages, etc. Now, an ALS transport (advanced life support) is much higher because the medic is using monitoring equipment, drugs, IV's, etc.

Don't know about Pheonix but my dad had a heart attack 2 months ago and they drove him 3 miles to the hospital and the fee was $700 for JUST the transport..not counting anything else
